Welcome to Ladakh, India – The Land of High Passes

Tucked away in the northernmost reaches of India, Ladakh is a land of stark contrasts and timeless Himalayan beauty. From its rugged snow-capped mountains and cold deserts to shimmering high-altitude lakes and centuries-old monasteries, Ladakh feels like a world apart—wild, peaceful, and deeply spiritual.

Ladakh ,india is a region, not a city. It was once part of the larger state of Jammu & Kashmir, but since 2019, it stands as a Union Territory of India, consisting of two main districts:

  • Leh, the more visited district, known for its Tibetan-Buddhist influence, picturesque landscapes, and popular landmarks like Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, and Magnetic Hill.

  • Kargil, a quieter, lesser-explored region, offers untouched mountain scenery, cultural richness, and remote village life.

When travelers speak of “going to Ladakh,” they’re usually referring to the Leh region and its surroundings—but the true essence of Ladakh lies beyond the familiar, across dramatic passes and deep into hidden valleys.
